I believe that service is a vital aspect of an academic career. I have striven to serve the social work scholarly community in different capacities, as highlighted below.
Throughout my doctoral training at the University of Alabama School of Social Work, I have looked for ways to contribute meaningfully to the social work profession, to the students around me, and to the communities where I live and study. My approach to service has always been shaped by a simple belief: that the work we do as scholars should not remain confined to journal articles and conference presentations but should also show up in how we support one another, how we show up for our communities, and how we help open doors for those coming after us.
